Merrythought Cottage is a Grade II listed newly renovated property in the heart of historic Rye. This two bedroom, two en-suite, split level timber framed property is finished to an exceptionally high standard. The cottage benefits from a modern kitchen with 21st Century mod-cons, a comfortable lounge with dining area seating four.


This stunning cottage provides a luxury stay directly outside the doors of the famous St. Marys Church. Rye is filled with quirky boutique shops a number of independent pubs, bars, restaurants and coffee shops.



WHERE WE ARE





Positioned in Church Square, Merrythought Cottage is just a one minute walk to the bustling High Street of Rye. With some of the most Instagrammable backdrops and unique scenery on the South Coast, Rye has been used as a set for many movies and programmes including Mapp and Lucia and Monuments Men.


The main car park for the town is Cattle Market with 24 hour parking available for just £2.00 per day (apart from Thursdays when the local market is on). Hastings, Battle, Eastbourne and Brighton are all a short drive away so you will never be stuck for a day out with Merrythought Cottage as your base.

SLEEP



Sleeping up to 4 guests across 2 bedrooms the cottage offers spacious accommodation, including two very comfortable king sized beds, one on the ground floor and one on the first. We provide all linen and towels. Both bedrooms also have their own en-suites with digital shower, hand basin and WC. The master en-suite also has a large digital bath.



EAT



Merrythought Cottage has a newly renovated modern kitchen complete with all mod-cons including dishwasher, fridge-freezer, electric double oven and ceramic hob. The dining area within the lounge seating 4 is the perfect spot to enjoy a home cooked meal with views of St. Mary's church.

With a spacious lounge, including comfortable designer sofas seating 5 guests you will find yourself at home in Merrythought. Cosy up with a good book in front of the large windows or catch up on your favourite shows on the smart TV complete with Netflix. There are plenty of games and books at the property for your use. We offer free high speed wifi throughout.

Rye has a thriving art scene which is reflected in the numerous amount of art galleries around the town. The annual Rye Arts Festival includes many visual arts events and exhibitions. Cultural events and artists open studios run throughout the year. Rye is a perfect base for art lovers who may like to browse the mix of galleries and shops in the town and surrounding areas.

We are perfectly situated for the vast array of museums, churches and castles of Rye and the surrounding areas. Take a walking tour of Mapp & Lucia's Rye to take in the historic buildings and stories of E.F. Benson, stroll down Rye Harbour Nature Reserve, head into the Kino theatre to see the latest movies and enjoy dinner, and you can't miss Rye's market every Thursday.

With excellent direct travel links by train to destinations such as Ashford, London, Brighton, Battle, St. Leonards, Hastings, Bexhill and Eastbourne you will never be stuck for a day out shopping or sightseeing.
